Bio
The DJ who never plays the same song ... A.C. The Program Director (A.C. The P.D) aka El Choppo, founder at HipHopPhilosophy.com (The original “HIPHOP IS NOT ON THE RADIO” tee-shirts), member of the LA Breakers est.1982, was born in Stanton, California on March 22, 1973.
Finding HipHop in the summer of 1981 at the age of 8, when it was mostly electro-funk, he started breakin' and poppin' at the Boys and Girls Club of Stanton, Ca. In 1983, he recorded tapes from the original KDAY HipHop radio show “Saturday Night Fresh” by Uncle Jamm's Army, then the Dust Brothers radio show The Big Beat Showcase on KSPC in 1985,1986 (when they were simply known as EZ Mike and King Gizmo). A love for finding and sharing great new music with extraordinarily high standards evolved into a passion for creating a radio resource for all the good-new music the radio won't play, and eventually putting out original music.
Based in Los Angeles, HipHopPhilosophy.com is a unique record store, art gallery, radio station, record label & clothing line created in 2000. The online radio station is one-of-a-kind because we only play music we never played before.
HipHopPhilosophy.com is the first to book the following artists for shows in Los Angeles: Ed OG, Percee P, Jedi Mind Tricks, People Under The Stairs, J Zone, MF Doom, Celph-Titled, Louis Logic, Apathy, Cormega, Edan, Insight, Count Bass D, Wise Intelligent (PRT), Dooley O, Spexxx and The DFS Crew, Marchitect, King Sun, Bugseed, among many more.
