Where comes the name Dirty Lazrs?
Chacho: 2011 Swedish House Mafia @ EDC Las Vegas, Blew our minds with there amazing light show
Chris: That basically decided it for us, we chose Dirty because we love to play... you know those, dirty electro house bangers, and the Lazrs is because we plan to have lasers all over the place when we do future festivals.
You have years of experience as a producer and DJ. How did your career start?
Chacho: I've been DJing for about 5 years, and producing I really never got into it until I met Chris. We decided to learn together because music was our passion. Ever since one of my older brothers showed me Tiesto, and DHT, I just fell in love with the music ever since, and decided I want to do what they do.
Chris: What basically started my career was when I went to Nocturnal 2010. It was my first festival, and I absolutely fell in love. I told myself that one day I was going to be on that stage one day I started heavily getting into DJing and I started teaching myself how to produce when me and chacho met, and shared the same passion.
You’re known as Big Room artist. Where do you get your inspiration?
Chris & Chacho: we wouldn't classify ourselves as a Big Room Artist, we are very versatile, trying to experiment with other genre's. But for our Big Room Songs, our inspiration comes from a HUGE kick with amazing bass synths, and leads.
Resently you released remix of a song "PGX, Celeste & Rokuro - Trapped. Can you explain what that "magic" is that makes you choose one song above all for to do a remix on?
One of our friends that does our Mastering approached us and asked if we would like to remix one of Celeste's songs. We felt honored because we absolutely love her voice. We've been wanting to work with her for a while. Once we heard the melody we knew that could put a "Dirty Lazrs" touch to it.
How’s has the audience responded to Trapped remix?
Chris: It's been absolutely amazing. We've been getting a lot of attention on it, and I believe thats how you came across us as well. We cant wait until we actually release the song that shows the full potential of Celeste and the Melody.
Chacho: I feel like Trapped has received the most feedback out of all of our other songs. It's one of those club tracks thats going to bang and blow up itself.
Tell what makes you so special duo, what is the "thing" that makes you special?
Chacho: I think what makes us a really good duo is that we both have similar styles, but also different. Combining our styles together just gives us that sound that you hear in our tracks. Our energy together just clicks, we get along and know how eachother works. And I feel like chris has a little crush on me which is a little weird in my opinion
Chris: No Comment
What’s your most memorable gig?
At this point, we would say the Double Vision tour with Splitbreed and Sirensceol. It was very well planned out, our biggest stage we've performed on, and we had an amazing energetic crowd.
Where’s the best party at?
Chris: Our House!
Chacho: Our House!
What’s next?
Chris: We are no where close to where we want to be yet, but our next goal is of course playing at a festival. We are trying to win the Discovery Project every time its available and hope we get to play at EDC Las Vegas this year. Another goal is of course to get a song signed by a Major Record Label.
Chacho: We have a bunch of tracks that we have to finish, and hopefully we can get them all released by festival season. Were going to start building our pricey studio. Also, we would like to start a Dirty Lazrs Webisode soon that follows our life.
Who is your idol?
Chris: There is so many to name, but If I were to pick absolutely one, it would be Calvin Harris because he pulls dem females. Just kidding, Ummet Ozcan.
Chacho: I get Idolized by so many artists at different points of my life, but if I were just to name one it would be, the guy that started me to like electronic music, the man himself, the legend, Tiesto.
What is your dream?
Chris: I want to share with the world my emotions I put into my music. I also want to control the emotions of an audience of 100,000 people at once with my DJing.
Chacho: I'm not trying to sound cocky or anything, but being #1 DJ in the world. Hardwell said it in one of his interviews when he was a lot younger that his goal was to be the number one DJ in ten years, and I feel like that we can achieve that. We've been progressing in every project since we started. I Believe we have the work ethics to achieve those goals.
Would you want to share something with the followers of Let the Bass Get You?
We want to thank you all for taking the time out of your day to listen to our music, and reading this interview. Look forward to hearing more of our releases and we hope that we get to play in front of you one day in the future. If you'd like you can always follow us on our social media to get updates on what we are doing. - Nooa Riitijoki
