Bio
Dennis calls his unique mix of modern folk, rock, roots, and country music "California-americana," drawing favorable comparisons to Jackson Browne, Dave Alvin, and Jack Johnson. He's performed in coffeehouses, bars, street corners, backyards, front yards, gymnasiums, stadiums, living rooms, theatres, festivals, beach fronts, mountain shacks, and railroad tracks--anyplace that anyone might listen.
Highlights of his career in music include: opening act for Dan Bern: opening act for Cyndi Lauper; playing at the legendary Whisky-a-Go-Go and the iconic Roxy in Los Angeles; opening for Rosie Flores, Katy Moffatt, and Lili Haydn; hosting an open mic at the Moondog Cafe in Hollywood; having his song "There's a Guy" appear in the independent film Verses; and writing incidental background music for a theatre production of Charlotte's Webb. Sometimes it just feels great to busk on a beautiful day, sending a song into the great outdoors. Nature can be unpredictable, though. A couple of summers ago, he had an ocean-front gig cancelled due to a great white shark sighting.
