Bio
Jackson Odgers Zabransky, A.K.A. Denim Mob, is unequivocally and unapologetically himself. His unique sound is self-described as “a mixture of synth-driven, 80’s-esque, dirty, nasty, new-wave funk…and a little bit of places in between and past that.” Zabransky’s sound, mixed with his eccentric style, high-energy stage presence, and genuine heart, are proving a force to bereckoned with.
Born and raised in Oakland, New Jersey, Zabransky said he, “always had an interest in music.” Now, he is a recording artist with a unique and fresh musical perspective. Established in 2017, Denim Mob began as Zabransky’s first solo project. After years of performing and writing music with bands such as Devon Goods, Westboro Madness, and Connecticut, he decided to embark on his own musical journey.
As a natural songwriter and an accomplished musician, Zabransky came equipped with the necessary tools to build his funky-pop empire. “I’m trying to make pop music, but pop music that isn’t run-of-the-mill,” he explained. Following an inspiring experience in high school jazz band, Zabransky started teaching himself multiple instruments, all of which he plays when here cords in the studio. He currently records as Denim Mob’s vocalist, guitarist, bassist, and drummer, not to mention synth player, producer and sometimes recording engineer.
Denim Mob’s first single, “Psylocin,” is a psychedelic nod to Zabransky’s musical and personal styles. The instant hit has already been streamed over 1,000 times on Spotify globally. Ben Runyan (of City Rain, and JUSTPROCESS) has described, “Psylocin,” as, “slick disco pop thatwould fit perfectly as the soundtrack for a roller rink in 1981; in all the best ways. The song is hookey, smooth, and pristinely produced.”
Despite his one-man-band capabilities, Zabransky recently added drummer and pianist John Kelly-Keifer and bassist Anthony Melograno to Denim Mob’s performance line-up. He plans to begin collaborating with them in the studio on his upcoming projects.
After years of trying to be someone else, he said, “at this point, I’m just doing what makes me happy and doing what makes me feel like me. I really justwant to be remembered for who I am and how I express that.”
