Bio

Demarco D Williams, known as Deco D, is the CEO of Good Life Entertainment G & M LLC, a company dedicated to "entertaining the good life." His musical journey began at a very young age amidst the rich cultural fabric and influential music scene of San Francisco's historic Fillmore district. Born and raised in San Francisco, Deco was surrounded by the city's vibrant atmosphere and artistic energy from a young age. At just 9 years old, he was first introduced to the world of music and songwriting by local rap legends JT The Bigga Figga, Andre Nickatina, and Cool Nut. These established artists took the precocious young Deco under their wing, encouraging his budding talents. By age 11, with their guidance and influence, Deco had discovered his own unique lyrical voice and songwriting abilities. Despite facing the harsh realities of poverty, life's unpredictable obstacles, and personal tragedies during his formative years, Deco turned to music as an outlet. He channeled the entire spectrum of human experiences - struggles, joy, pain, triumph - into his poetic verses and hard-hitting rhymes. His ability to vividly capture real-life situations and raw emotions resonated deeply, allowing listeners from all walks of life to relate to the compelling narratives in his music. Deco's passion for hip-hop was truly ignited at age 11 when his 10-year-old friend showed him a karaoke machine that could loop beats. Collaborating for the first time, Deco unleashed his freestyle rapping abilities, spitting lyrics off the cuff over the looped rhythms created by his friend. This moment unlocked a newfound creative force within Deco, setting him on his artistic path. Around this same time, the young rapper crossed paths with Andre Nikitina, aka Dre Dog, an older artist from the neighborhood who had achieved some local success after signing with the RBL Posse record label. At just 12 years old, Deco was in awe of Dre Dog's polished skills and respect in the Bay Area scene. Dre Dog took Deco under his wing, serving as a pivotal mentor. He taught the hungry young emcee the fundamentals of constructing rhymes and writing 16-bar verses - the basic building blocks to craft fully structured hip-hop songs. While musical peers like the revered Dre Dog helped mold and refine Deco's lyrical abilities, he credits his grandmother as the spiritual anchor and moral compass that kept him grounded. Her guidance and wisdom imparted important values that provided balance to his artistic passion. It was after relocating to Kansas City that Deco's talents as a songwriter fully blossomed. Drawing from the skills Dre Dog had instilled in him, the 16-year-old Deco penned his first eight complete songs. His raw, precocious songwriting abilities caught the attention of local label Jackpot Records, who were impressed enough to offer the aspiring teen rapper a $30,000 record deal to record those first eight tracks. This significant co-sign and investment launched Deco's rapid career ascent, allowing him to seriously pursue his musical dreams. The record deal enabled Deco to take his artistry global at a remarkably young age. He embarked on tours around the world, performing on stages from Japan and Belgium to Germany and Paris - all while he was still just a teenager. The opportunity to travel internationally and experience different cultures was incredibly exciting. However, Deco never lost sight of the deeper inspirations fueling his creative fire - his tight-knit family, their struggles, their triumphs, and the communities that shaped him. With that profound source of motivation reignited, Deco and his wife April Robertson eventually started their own entertainment company, Good Life Entertainment. The husband-and-wife team collaborates on every aspect of their deeply personal musical output, with Deco building full compositions around his poignant songwriting and April providing lush vocal stylings while directing the overall creative vision. As he looks towards his 30th anniversary as a recording artist next year, Deco is finally preparing to release his official debut album - a full-length project built from the foundations of that first 8-song EP that earned him a major label deal as a teenager back in Kansas City. With a wealth of life experiences Human: Look over what it says about Deco's 8 song EP and debut album from his first deal in Kansas City.
