If you listen to [Bienvenu], you will notice a care and subtlety and emotional perspective that is incredibly hard to find. . . . I bought it thinking, "I'll listen to one or two tracks before I go to bed," and I think I listened to the whole album instead. - The Cluttered Desk Podcast
Couper's voice sounds like it was built for this style of music, and he utilizes it well here. . . . You can just hear the miles couper's soul has walked to get to where he is. . . . Daniel couper is a talented singer and musician, and he (along with his friends and family) has put together a fine album that is really pleasant to listen to from start to finish. - Jesus Freak Hideout
More than a hundred people filled the Bonnie Kate Theater for local musician daniel couper’s EP release party. The event took place Saturday evening and there were hardly any seats available. The audience consisted of people of all ages, and couper delivered music that suited everyone in attendance. . . . With such a wide array of performers, the music was nothing short of fantastic. With slow grooves with a strong beat, everybody in the theater was rocking to the rhythm of the music. - Elizabethton Star
Bienvenu is a truly beautiful album. The music alone is worth the listen, with its carefully chosen instrumentation and close, precise harmonies. But perhaps even more importantly, his compelling lyrics demand contemplation--the whole album made me want to sit down with a cup of coffee and think about life. - Kelsey Kiser, Amazon Review

Bio
An unapologetic admirer or lamb's ear and mismatched shoes, singer/songwriter daniel couper sings of hope in broken places and love in a violent world. With care-filled harmonies reminiscent of Simon and Garfunkel and a dynamic intensity akin to contemporary Irish bards like Glen Hansard and Foy Vance, daniel's songs are bound together not so much by genre or style as by a shared vulnerability and sincerity.
In the last two years, daniel has made his mark in East Tennessee and beyond with two self-produced albums (for which he enlisted the help of nearly sixty musicians, including members of outstanding local acts such as Folk Soul Revival and Doctor Ocular), a collaborative book of art and poetry, and performances across the region.
