Give us some background info as to who you are?
"I am a writer at heart. Started out just writing my emotions on paper which turned into poetry and eventually into songs. From there I taught myself to record, mix & engineer. Once I realized I had a good ear for mixing I went to school for it. I am not a producer as in playing instruments etc. but I am always involved in the creative process of making the record. " -
What do you want people to get from your music?
"I want them to get what they need. When you listen to music what you play depends on your mood so I want to have music prepared for all of it." -

Bio
D.P. Da Prophet was born in the Capitol of Virginia, known as the city of Richmond where locals call it RVA. Growing up he has always been captivated by music but it wasn't until age 12 where he realized that music would be what he was destined to live through. While writing poetry to vent, his poems soon turned into verses and his verses soon became songs.
He acquired such a diverse background in Music Entertainment by attending Recording Engineering & Music Business School in FL, becoming an A&R for a thriving Indie Label back home and working with Wal-Mart’s Wholesale store Sam’s Club on a project for the future of the children. Spending an excessive amount of time around ATL’s music scene, helping to handle bookings & features for major artists and living in the studio all night played a hand in D.P.’s rewarding career as well.
Prophet has made it on MTV, MTV Hive, MTV Canada, VH1, Yahoo Music, VEVO and several major blogs such as HotNewHipHop & Hype Magazine. Da Prophet was also blessed to get the opportunity to be promoted nationwide in the 2013 XXL Freshman Issue. Canada, Germany, New Zealand, London, & of course the US are some of the many places he has been interviewed.
With a growing fan base D.P. Da Prophet graced the Indie Grind section of Hip Hop Weekly magazine, as well as released his EP Forgive But Never Forget which you can buy or stream from all digital stores. His music was ranked in the top 5 percent out of 100,000 records when reviewed by over 200 people, male and female ages 16-50 which shows he has serious commercial market potential (via SoundOut). If you don't know Da Poet Da Prophet by now soon you won't be able to escape the music.
