RANSOM AND REDEMPTION: First Album for Justin E. Morgan aka D.J. NASDAQ
LOS ANGELES, October 9, 2018 -— Justin E. Morgan, known professionally as D.J. NASDAQ, is a Chicago-born actor, model, and music producer. His debut Album RANSOM AND REDEMPTION is the culmination of two years’ producing, and draws on a 20 year history of drumming and beat making.
RANSOM AND REDEMPTION channels the transformative experience of Morgan’s transition to full-time producing. The sacrifice that often comes with the pursuit of creative ambition is captured in beats that oscillate between jubilance and contemplation, often evoking the soaring liberation that can come from devotion to one’s craft. Atmospheric and varied sounds are achieved through mixed instrumentals including strings, piano, organ, guitar, and drums, referencing trip-hop, rock, and house, while retaining a distinctive sound.
Opening tracks include “Public Warning”, a virtuous call to arms, and “THRAX”, the explosive single that combines epic electronic underwaves with grand piano keys. “ExodusLand” and “Sireneem” are examples of more whimsical and experimental tracks, taking the listener on a trip through their wildest imaginations. With 808s layered all throughout, your speakers will be sure to send vibrations through the entire room!
The strong visual element to Morgan’s creative process arises from a desire to capture personal visions— “epic frames of dreamy skies, birds flying, fire blazing”—and translate them into a shared experience through sound. The accompanying four track visual EP is testament to the pursuit of a complete artistic vision.
We sense there is more to come. Morgan is an artist who has found his medium.
RANSOM AND REDEMPTION will be available on iTunes on November 1st and make landfall at launch parties in LA and Chicago around that time.

Justin E. Morgan
is an American actor, model and music producer known for appearances on Empire FOX and NBC Chicago Fire.
With a resume that includes television appearances, commercial + print campaigns as well as improv, Justin has also emerged as a multi-faceted artist, drummer and music producer under the moniker D.J. NASDAQ.
Born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, Justin has always carried a tenacity that fuels his passion for success. He currently lives and works between Los Angeles and Chicago while also raising his daughter, who is one of the biggest motivating factors in his life and career.
