I was born in Southwest Detroit, Michigan. I am a product of the Detroit streets. I spent half of my life behind bars. I released my first album in 2002, Thug Poetry, it was an instant hit before getting locked up again. Now, I'm back with my new mixtape, Street Bible Vol. 1. On this album, I put my life on front street talking about real life. Most of these cats today are actors, but John Dough is the real Deal. FUCC WIT ME.
Where are you currently based?
I'm from Southwest Detroit, 3-1-3rd, what up doe! I'm based in El Dorado, Arkansas what up El Dog and I'm promoting my new work Street Bible "A Real Nigga Testament" Make sure y'all check that out.
What can listeners expect to hear from your music?
Originality, a real nigga talking real Shit. The album is a real Bible for my people fucked up our here in life, and my nigga on lock. Free my Brother Tre Pound.
Are there any artists or DJs you've been working with, or would like to?
Any real nigga that's doing good business I'm open to fuck with but I like working solo to find my identity. I'm my biggest fan.
What have you been doing career-wise for the past few months?
I have been working on my new mixtape The Street Bible vol. 1, which will be released July 10, 2016. I just did the Coast2Coast mixtapes got the 3rd spot but that's a blessing, accomplishment, and stepping stone for me. Photo shoots, just shot a video for my single "Shorty So Fly" check that out. I'm just trying to work the single into the club scene, the grind is real.
Where do you think the music industry is headed as a whole?
I think niggas need to get back to making good quality music
so fans will start supporting artists again. But Hip Hop is BIG. I think real niggas bout to start going worldwide, this a hard arena to be in, but we most definitely in the best spot right now.
What sets you apart from other artists?
Me being one with the streets. I'M in the trenches 24-7, 365 so the people can relate to my pain, not to mention my originality they love about John Doe.
Who are your musical influences?
Everybody influence me that's making good music. I love the art side of it, so if you can paint that picture I can connect to it. I love real Shit that I can feel, but at the end of the day, an artist is just an artist to me. I get my influence from my fans seeing how they respond to music.

Clicc Tight BestFriends is a dynamiq hip hop duo bridging old & new school culture! Ra, aka John Lavell Henry was born in Detroit, Michigan. He is an American songwriter/rapper/producer. Ra is best known for his mixtape, Thug Poetry, which he released in April 2002 under John Do’e. His second mixtape, Street Bible was released in July 2016. “Shorty So Fly”, the first single won a slot on the Coast2Coast #NEXTUP mixtape volume 337 and an article in issue #70 of Coast2Coast magazine. “Black Diamond,” was released in 2017 with F1rst Lady, under the name John Deux Live. It was his third album.
God, born LaQuetta Shonise Davis, is an American songwriter & lyricist, best known as a criminal defense & civil rights attorney. A published author, “What About My Hair” and “My Daddy Takes An Airplane To Work,” reflect personal glimpses into life as a military wife and mother. God wrote her first single, “Goodbye,” and released it on YouTube under the name F1rst Lady. After co-writing “Black Diamond,” the pair shared success with fans as they were featured artists with ‘Thisis50’; ‘Desert Storm Radio’; ‘Hood Illustrated’; and more. Taking it one step further for the people...they took their identity literally and became known as BestFriends.
BestFriends received their music education from Grammy award-winning producers at Extreme Institute by Nelly, before releasing Benz Truck, the duo’s first official release as a group. Benz Truck is trending on radios around the nation and also available on all digital platforms. Having opened shows & shared stages with legends such as Mr. Cheeks & Keith Murray, being in the top 50 on the Indie charts and top 200 on the Global charts, BestFriends is the upcoming hip hop group to watch on the Billboards!
