Crystal Monkey Project

Chris, Rob, and Mark – Three American kids doin’ the best they can. These somewhat mature musicians take their music seriously, but themselves…not so much. Appearances in their videos are rare – faces made for radio and such. So what do they have going for them? Well-written songs, produced and performed with experience behind them. In other words, guitar-driven melodic pop/rock that means something, has emotion, and sticks with you – that’s worth your time to listen. Turn it up and enjoy!

Chris

Rock n' Roll guitar hero, choir boy, songwriting savant...but enough about Dave Grohl. Good to have aspirations, right? When Chris isn't extolling Dave's virtues, he does his best at the guitar/singing/songwriting/producing stuff, too. It's a lot. He's exhausted much of the time, but a steady dose of sex, drugs, and rock n' roll...well, there's never been drugs, and frankly he's been married a long time, so the sex is none of your business...hmm, let's go with chocolate. A steady dose of chocolate and rock n' roll keep him energized and coming back for more.

Rob

Rob started playing drums at age 10. So, you’d think he’d be better by now. But he’s good enough. He sings harmonies with Chris, which, he says, is “fun if I didn’t have to play drums”.  He got to play some guitar on the new record. Oh, we should mention that he’s a composer for his day job. So, yea, he knows a lot, musically speaking. Probably should have kept up with the drum lessons though.

Mark

Born the son of a poor physicist, Mark began his musical journey as a seven year old pianist and followed as a sixteen year old folk guitarist. Then, after headbanging to Edvard Grieg and Tchaikovsky, gave it a go as a bass player. Serving in such well-known bands as ‘The Milk Duds’,’ Not featuring Mark Lindsey’, and several others, he joined forces with Crystal Monkey Project, cementing his decision to ‘carry the bottom’ as his true calling. He played a little synth on this record…actually, it’s a medium-sized synth.
