Bio
The history of Crossroads, delves further back into the past than from when the band first got together in the rehearsal studio. All of the members have been playing together for decades in various bands, with varying members, bands such as Bill Donovan Solo Act., The Flip Side, Off the Record, and Little Sister and the Rolling Machine.
The band first got into the studio in 2017, with the Gerritsen Beach Music Festival in sights, looming in the summer of that same year. Since 1972, Bill, and Jim Sr. who are twin brothers, have been playing together largely influenced by artists such as Allman Bros., The Eagles, Eric Clapton, Cat Stevens, Rush, and Deep Purple to name a few. From incorporating those influences mixed with the influence of classic rock and modern country music such as Zac Brown Band, and Tim McGraw, the Crossroads band was born.
While getting material together, Bill and Jim Sr. felt that something was missing. Collectively deciding that a bass player, and lead guitar player would be the best way to fill the void based on the mutual objective of the band, they recruited the talents of Andy Dellagatta and Jim Donovan Jr. respectively, completing the core lineup of the band.
Another aspiration of the band is putting their own unique twist on the songs in order to achieve an organic feel, and a larger sense of connection with themselves, and the audience during live performances. After preparing for several months, the band made their debut with a hugely successful live performance at the 2017 Gerritsen Beach Summer Music Festival with an audience of 200+ , and since then, the band has been performing live at a significant amount of parties and venues all across NY State.
