Toronto.com presented Toronto’s Funniest Torontonian competition last night before a sold-out crowd at Yuk Yuk's Comedy Club for the Just For Laughs 42. We asked folks to upload a video of themselves showing off their comedy chops to Toronto.com, where a panel of judges narrowed the entrants down to 13 contestants. The final 13 videos were posted online and thousands of people went to Toronto.com to vote on their favourite videos.
The top 5 contestants with the highest votes were invited to compete at last night’s JFL42 show, which was hosted by Canadian comedian and television personality Daryn Jones, for the title of Funniest Torontonian.

...But do me a favour and pay attention to Craig Fay's set. He hosted Myq Kaplan's recent stint in Toronto a few weeks ago, and I was really taken aback. His appearance was clean cut, all dress shirt, tie, and cardiganned out. As the evening went on, I noticed that he was firing on all cylinders, casually crushing with crowd work and progressively subversive material (subversive for his dress code, anyways). It was one of those performances when you realize, 'Oh, this guy is genuinely funny.' You don't see that everyday. - Michael Jagdeo-BlogTO
