Cougrzz Rock!

“Our band represents having the courage to go for your dreams in spite of the barriers that come between making your dreams a reality. In our case, it’s OK to play like a girl, because girls rock and so do we!” So declares Cougrzz Rock! frontwoman Chrissy Marquez. It’s a bold statement, but fitting considering this band is a collection of courageous cougars that covers every genre of your favorite hits—belting out familiar lyrics with a sexy spin for the past three years. It wasn’t easy getting this girls-only rock band together. But these cougars overcame that challenge and followed their dreams to form the sassy and successful all-female Cougrzz Rock!

Since our girls represent more mature females that know what they want, don’t mess around and have plenty of looks, confidence and talent, we came up with Cougrzz Rock! (I like to say we’re like The Pussycat Dolls with 20 years experience.) We’re all about girl power and reinvention. We want to inspire all females, young and old, to follow their heart and their passion!

We’re definitely unique in the marketplace. Most bands are all male or female-fronted all-male. The beautiful thing is that we’re not just a gimmick. We actually have the talent to back up our concept. Our band members are bona fide professional musicians, with music degrees, years of performing experience—some of us teach music to others and we have original songwriters in the group as well. Our versatility is key. We can be family-friendly when we need to be, and we have a naughty side as well, which can be fun!

GRACE RICHARDSON - VOCALS - This seasoned pussycat has been rockin' the mic for over 20 years! Gracie has toured internationally with her band, Phoenix Rising, but is best known for her 7 year stint at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas, NV where she starred in "Legends in Concert" portraying Madonna, Gwen Stefani, Christina Aguilera and Marilyn Monroe! No one can match her pipes, and she knows how to get a crowd up and on their feet!

ROSEANN ALDRETE - GUITAR - Lead guitarist Rosie Aldrete will wow you with her lead guitar riffs! She picked up a guitar at the age of 15 and set the so Cal guitar scene on fire. A true rock star, Rosie wows crowds with her passionate performance style. She is involved in multiple projects, including Cougrzz Rock!, and her original project, CR Acoustic. Rosie is also a sought after session musician, lending her uncomparable tone to Corday’s latest CD, “Weekend Warrior”, which won the Best Video category in the 2012 Out Music Awards. She has credits for playing on Jan’s Coming Out (2011) and Meth Head (2012), both independent films. Rosie has toured all over Southern California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Florida and Mexico playing venues including the House of Blues, the Whiskey, the Roxy, the Troubador, the Viper Room and the VooDoo Lounge. JEANNETTE JACQUES - BASS GUITAR - Born a music lover, Jeannette always dreamed of playing in a band. Inspired by The Beatles, she started taking acoustic guitar lessons at age 15. At age 23, a friend put a bass in her hand. It was instant love and she knew she had found her instrument. Jeannette played in the all original band, Lust for Loonies,  and in an acoustic cover band, Jake & The Stalkers. She also plays the acoustic guitar and writes her own songs. If you get an opportunity to see the girls live, make sure to see why we call her "High Kick"! Jeannette most definitely brings her own unique style to the Cougrzz.

CHRISSY MARQUEZ - DRUMS/PERCUSSION/VOCALS - Chrissy is also a lifetime musician, playing the piano since she was 6. She entered USC with a talent scholarship and began a career as a professional dancer for many years before discovering her love for the drums. She's a true entertainer, with years of experience working for companies such as Disneyland, the Anaheim Angels and McDonald's and with artists including KidnPlay and Buster Pointdexter. She's passionate about music and the girl HITS HARD!

CRYSTAL PORTILLO - VOCALS/PERCUSSION - Crystal may be from a small town but don’t let her southern accent fool you! With a heart for country music and a soul for rock-n-roll, she has her own sound and style.
