Bio
Corners of Sanctuary, a traditional Heavy Metal band from Philadelphia, first hit the music
scene in 2011. With the release of their initial
EP Forgotten Hero, in 2012, C.O.S.
quickly began
to gain momentum and shortly after the EP’s debut, C.O.S.
released their first full-length
CD titled Breakout. From there it has
been non-stop. Since Breakout‘s release, C.O.S. has been signed to La Mazakuata Records, and has released
two follow-up full-length CDs including Harlequin
and Axe to Grind. Several additional
EPs, such as Epilogue, Carry the Cross, December Wind and Merry Metal
Xmas I & II have also been produced to supplement fans’ desire for
more. Most recently, the band released a live CD from a performance at one of
Philly’s historic and predominate venues, the Trocadero Theater. Appropriately
titled: Corners of Sanctuary: Live at the Trocadero Theater, “We were stoked to have the opportunity to
play at the Troc..., it’s a premiere showcase for any local band” said Mick Michaels, founding member and the
band’s guitarist. “It was awesome,
everyone had
a great time,”
he added.
The band is already working on a new CD entitled
Metal Machine. “We hope to have it released in early 2015,” stated Sean Nelligan, co-founder
and the group’s
drummer.
C.O.S. has spent the last eight months performing in
support of Axe to Grind. “We’ve been touring
across the Eastern and Mid-West United States..., it has been a blast,” says James Pera, the band’s bass player. “We’ve played festivals,
benefit shows, opened for Anvil, The Edge of Paradise, David Shankle (DSG, Manowar) and Black Lodge and even headlined a few of our shows,” Pera continued. “We are
already booking shows for next
year,” added Frankie Cross, the band’s front man and
lead singer. “It’s pretty cool!”
