"Overall, it was a good catchy listen with some nice hooks. I am quite curious to see where they go with this" - Emo at Heart
What must have been especially tough for the judges was deciding who was the best of the best because of the different genres represented. There was Cometa, a blend of emo and metal - or as they liked to call it, "dance metal" - who sounded like they belonged on the Warped Tour - The Daily Campus, Stephen Ortiz
Cometa, an alternative metal band out of Orange, Conn., kicked off the concert at noon. Their songs were all aggressive and up-tempo with screaming, growling vocals, and plenty of emotion. - The Daily Campus
Cometa, a band described as the birth product of "if Saosin, Iron Maiden and Thrice had sex" by the mediator, showed its confidence and comfort onstage. Considering this is the young band's first gig (Cometa formed a month ago), it will be interesting to see what happens in the future. Their set was littered with tight harmonies on guitars, vocals with the endearing nasal reminiscence of A.F.I. and undertones of sinister metal. - The Daily Campus
