MEET THE BAND

COLT.....Music has and always will be my passion in life. I've been around all types of music growing up; One I've identified the most with has been Country music. Growing up a backwoods blue collar boy in Pennsylvania, Country music has shared a lot of my same beliefs, experiences, joys, and sorrows.
I have found that no matter where my life has taken me, I have been able to rely on music. It has gotten me through a lot of good times and a lot of bad, and I've never lost sight of that. It has been an outlet, a crutch, and most of all a friend I've never been able to turn down devoting time to.
I just try to make the best music I can by sharing my life experiences, influences, stories, and lessons I've learned through these six strings and pen n' paper.

JASON....In tribute to my Uncle Scott for inspiring me to follow my dreams.
I play drums for The Colt Wilbur Band. I'm 26 yrs old and I've been slammin' the skins for 15 of those yrs. I started playing the day I saw my Uncle Scott jamming away with his band. I'm not your typical country drummer, I guess. I'm heavily influenced by bands that are decidedly not country, like Lamb of God, Hatebreed, Periphery, Animals as Leaders.....Yes I am a metal head! I'm also influenced by Steely Dan, Toto, Rush, Aerosmith, Vital Information, Herbie Hancock, Chic Korea, and thousands more. I'm all about serving the song and playing what is needed to make a fantastic tune. Just because you got the "chops" doesn't mean you've got to use em. Don't you worry though, I'll light it up for you once or twice when you come see us....I promise :-)

JOE.....I began playing guitar at age fifteen, though my musical endeavors began in elementary school, where piano and French horn formed the basis for my musical knowledge. Though music played an integral part of my life through age twenty-one, it wasn't until early adulthood that I made the decision to follow music as a career and lifestyle. After graduating from Lebanon Valley College's Music Recording Technology program, alongside Ryan Frantz and Aaron Trasatt, I began teaching guitar to others while working in the warehouse of a local guitar store with Colt Wilbur, whom I'd unknowingly played open mic nights beside some three years prior, Purcell, Frantz, and Trasatt. As if fate had brought us together, Jason, Ryan, Aaron, and I, were asked to play tunes with Colt, who was on the verge of completing The Reckoning, and on the lookout for a group of gigging musicians. From the beginning, we found that the stylistic diversity and technical abilities of each band member conglomerated into a singular entity almost entirely on it's own. While our approach is excitingly professional, the overall attitude of the band is one of optimistic experimentalism born of our friendships. This upcoming summer holds a boatload of shows, between which we plan to spend as much time as possible in the sun composing and arranging. Hope to see you there!

RYAN......My journey through music started in my basement closet when I was 12 years old, where I found my mother's acoustic guitar. As soon as I found it, I totally became obsessed playing it all the time, imagining it was an electric guitar so I could be a true punk rocker. Throughout my teenage years, I advanced as a guitar player, then when I turned 18, I saw my friend's dad play bass. He played the bass like no one I had ever seen, since that day I knew that the bass was for me. After that I got into Lebanon Valley College to study Music Business and Jazz Performance for Bass. I have played in many different bands including No Outlet, Shoeless Grooves, LITA, JR Wolf, Just Play, and now I am currently playing with SiXiS and the Colt Wilbur Band.
