“My dog’s got a problem…he’s good at smelling his own breed,” is how this trippy and adventurous video begins from the Bushwick band known as Color Tongue. We don’t actually get to see the “dog” until the very last frame, but the video in between those points is pretty whacked out, and we love it.
From start to finish, the video works perfectly with the song’s guitar laden structure and rolling bass-line that accentuates the frenzied lyrics. In essence, this is a work of art on all levels, that sometimes reaches epic psychedelic proportions when the band rages all together. We don’t know what it all means, even after watching it a dozen times and won’t speculate, but ask you to take a walk with Color Tongue and figure it out for yourself! We think you’ll dig it. - Pancakes and Whiskey
Every now and then, CBK likes to take a band out to eat and have them review their experience in the form of an impromptu song. We’re doing our part in keeping starving artists fed. This week we take Brooklyn-quartet Color Tongue to the pastrami haven, Katz’s Delicatessen.
Katz’s Delicatessen has long since been an LES mainstay since the days of Meg Ryan faking an O-face in front of poor Billy Crystal “When Harry Met Sally”. Since then, the walls have been lined with photos of everybody from Al Gore to Barbra Streisand and the line’s out the door. It’s basically a tourist trap boasting overpriced Reubens and kosher-like pickles. Regardless, it’s a staple of New York history and a welcomed meal for the boys of CT, a duo of NJ transplants residing in Brooklyn with a knack for music with carefree vibes.
Color Tongue is made up of Eddie Kuspiel, George Miata, Ray McGale and Joe Mitchell. I can’t think of a name that fits them more perfectly. Everything these dudes do is funnier and more ridiculous than the next. They shamelessly partook in every awkward pose asked of them and did it with huge smiles on their faces. Moreover, they managed to over sexualize eating corned beef, the least sexy of all deli meats. - Citizen Brooklyn

Bio
Color Tongue is an energetic Psychedelic Funk-Punk quartet from Brooklyn, New York. They've been digesting all of their influences from Funkadelic to Animal Collective, and regurgitating them into psychotically enjoyable performances all around Brooklyn and Manhattan for the better part of a year. They've been DIY the whole way making their own recordings, videos, projections, and even painting walls in Bushwick, this band leaves their colorful fingerprints on everything they touch.
