Bio
Raised tapping on the dashboard of a red Jeep Cherokee, in a town of just five hundred people, Codey sees the world a little different than most. With his childhood home two miles down Tom Jones Road in Kingston, Georgia and was the first house on the left. This isolation shaped much of the sound and perspective that makes his songs unique. His audience coined the term “Southern Soul” to describe his music on more than one occasion and they must be right. With a gritty vocal that makes the pain tangible and energetic music along with lyrics that are said to be the only time travel we have right now, Codey has something we just can’t put words to. He shrinks any size room and sings directly to each member of the audience one on one while creating space for magic to enter the picture and let the listener forget about life four minutes at a time.
Inspired by stories of love and loss with a soulful, growly vocal and rthymic drive of his guitar his songs unveil a form of Farm Raised Rock that’s yet to be defined. From living on a farm to moving to the city of Atlanta, he makes the listener feel the sadness, the joy, and the fleeting moments that make life so amazing. He’s spent the last decade traveling across the country sharing his songs and stories staying with friends and fans along the way. Never a motel. His fans are some the best in the world!! From performing atop the Daytona Beach Pier to your local dive, his goal is to make the audience walk away with a fire for life!
