Bio
Classified Frequency is a high energy, break the doors down, power pop, powerhouse power trio out of Maryland set to assault your senses with incredibly catchy melodies, aggressive delivery, and technical prowess of the likes of Cheap Trick, The Stereo, The Marvelous 3 and The Darkness. Matthew Berry (lead singer, guitarist and songwriter) created .CF back in college in 2004 while getting his degree in jazz studies. He always planned to make .CF his life but ended up having to put it on the back burner when he found himself very busy in the cover band scene of northern Virginia with acts such as Judo Chop, The Fuzz, Rew Smith, Cheap Date, The Congress(the list goes on) and also playing with a few original bands including Orange Line, Side FX, Rites Of Ash, and Derek Evry. With those groups, Matt played hundreds of shows a year and toured extensively, hitting cities all across the country.
In November of 2009, Matthew finally released the Heart Attack EP on iTunes which was produced, tracked, and performed by himself. Vocals were tracked and produced by Grammy award winning producer Dan Merceruio, and the EP was mixed by The Stereos own Jamie Woolford. The EP was played extensively on podcasts and radio around the country and was featured on the DC compilation Music Still Happens Here, so Matt put a band together to promote the record playing shows up and down the east coast.
At the beginning of 2013, after years of performing with other bands and growing increasingly frustrated with the music business, DC and Baltimores pay to play scenes, and the banality of modern pop and rock music, Matt quit every band he was playing with and decided to finally go all the way and put his entire heart and soul into the band he dreamed about almost a decade ago by starting work on a full length record with producer Jim Ebert (Butch Walker, The Marvelous 3, All Time Low, SR-71).
What other people are saying...
"CFs sound is super-tight and reminiscent of great bands like Cheap Trick. If you get a sec you should check out Heart Attack on their ReverbNation, a funny touch-in-cheek tale about wasting time on the wrong gal and how a heart attack would be preferable. Weve all been there. "
- Jeyon Falsini (Promotor)
"Their tunes thunder along at 100mph, chunky guitars, strong hooks, great melodies and a vocal delivery to die for, as for the drummer, I'll have two of whatever he has before going out this weekend!"
- Wayne Lundqvist Ford, Ice Cream Man Power Pop and More! (Blogger)
"The three piece punk-pop outfit is comprised of some of the most talented musicians in the D.C. area. While they are just a trio, their live sets feel as if they have doubled the amount of people onstage."
"The IOTA Club is typically filled with the chit-chatter of patrons this early in the night, but the fact that Classified Frequency managed to shut the entire venue up and actually pay attention is something to be said."
"...they are a band that Im still ashamed I havent discovered sooner."

"Power Pop at it's best!"
