Christopher the Grey is an American singer, songwriter, rapper and record producer with a unique sound that combines classic Soul with modern Hip-hop. He’s an artist who has seen many different phases of the music industry. Inspired by his musical parents, Christopher actively pursued a career as an artist in his twenties. During that time he worked in multiple genres and found inspiration across the spectrum of popular music.
Life took its twists and turns which led Christopher the Grey to take an extended hiatus from the business for a few years. However, in 2016 he returned and since then has dropped a series of successful singles. He soon found an international audience for tracks like “Butterflies,” “Higher” and “Fall Back and Chill.” Each song counts its spins in the tens of thousands on multiple platforms. Now he is back with his first song of 2021. - Static Dive
There are those times in your life, when the choice of music is simply too great. We all have them. Sometimes, you just stare at your playlists, your Spotify or YouTube account, and just can’t figure out what you want to hear. Often, we want to listen to multiple genres at the same time, but then, few artists manage to combine multiple genres. Or at least, few manage to do it as well as Christopher the Grey.
Christopher the Grey is an up and coming musician and singer songwriter, whose passion and devotion for music is evident in every little thing that he does. Having grown up in a powerfully musical family, Christopher the Grey inherited this passion rom his parents, and is now carrying on the torch rather masterfully with his genre-bending releases.
The latest of these, the track entitled “If I Didn’t Have You”, is a love song like no other. It blends elements of pop, R&B, hip hop and soul, and makes for a delightful listen that will soon get stuck in your head.
But then, what else could you expect from an artist like Christopher the Grey? His previous releases, the hugely successful “Butterflies” and “I am sorry”, paved the way to glory for this emotive, highly touching artist. And “If I Didn’t Have You” is simply following in their footsteps.
What we love about this song, in particular, is that it’s got a sexy rhythm that certainly sets the mood, but isn’t overpoweringly seductive. Instead, Christopher the Grey’s raw and evocative voice comes at you from the speakers, sending out a very true and relatable message of love and desire. It’s easy to relate to, which is what will make this song one of the best musical offerings of 2021. So make sure you jump on the bandwagon! - The Further
Elements of J Cole and B.o.B mix with old school hip hop on Christopher The Grey’s new single ‘If I didn’t Have You’, upbeat trap beats sitting tidily behind programmed synth parts and Christopher’s staccato, punchy lyrical flow.
The follow-up to last single ‘Butterflies’, and the 2020 album of the same name, ‘If I Didn’t Have You’ is bouncy, driving and upbeat, plaintive and searching, a cry to a lost love and a relationship gone south. There’s touches of T.I., Flo Rida, and Lil Wayne to it, plus some nicely modern-retro production in terms of the rising sequenced parts and the nicely gated hi hat beats.

Review by Alex Holmes - A&R Factory
Fusing together modern rap, hip-hop, and spoken word poetry, Christopher The Grey releases "If I Didn't Have You"
The eerie concoction of hypnotic composition and addictive melodies sets the track as having original characteristics.
Building up only slightly with synths and additional choral harmonies and delays, the narrative is like an opiate to the ears.
Intriguing, soothing, groovy.
The exploration of love in modern songwriting is key to the tracks signature sound and perfection.
The real genius in the sound is how it has been taken and wrapped into a distinctly modern, but still nostalgic sound.
This upholds a great sense of structure whilst simultaneously maintaining the rawness that gives it such charm.
