This guy just came on my radar recently but he's definitely a talented Palm Beach rapper. He just got on DJBooth.net, put out a mixtape sponsored by DatPiff, The Mind of a Believer, and dropped a video this year. - New Times Broward Newspaper
Every now and then, we’ll come across a relatively unknown artist and wish that we were the first to show him or her significant love. Upon spinning Chris Morris’s latest effort, “What Is Love”, at least five times straight, I will claim that this Brooklyn-born emcee certainly resides within that esteemed category.
Morris spins a dense and emotionally delicate story of lost love, a story that he sustains for the song’s entire duration. Relationships between mother and son, lovers, and emcees and hip-hip unfold over the four-plus minutes of the track. The voice of Morris is tinged with a classic emphasis on certain words and lines that recall earlier times in rap music, a theme that matches the contemplative and soulful backdrop created by producer Freddie Joachim. Talen Ted, a talented artist in his own right, aids the song with a hook sung in a touching tone that nearly borders falsetto. Chris Morris was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and is currently residing in Palm Beach, Florida. It all started from lunch room cyphers and continuous advice to make complete songs. After a lot of thought, He took it into consideration. Finding himself moving from school to school because of disciplinary problems, He decided to buckle down and find himself...that's when he really found the artist inside. He then moved to Atlanta, Georgia where he began to pursue music on a more serious and passionate level. He gathered a lot of knowledge in his year of living in Atlanta and used it to fuel the person he is today. Moving back to West Palm, He completed a well-planned project which got a lot of feedback and established him as a known artist throughout his region.
I'm chasing a dream, a dream to be heard, to be known, to become a voice for kids who have struggles similar to the ones I express through my music from flashbacks to present everyday encounters. Just accomplishing the goals of reaching others through a rhythmic flow of knowledge and soul will complete my mission I set out to reach.
