Chris Walsh is a charismatic singer-songwriter whose evocative, soulful style is imbued with a spiritual undercurrent grounded in authentic human experience. Raised in the Bourbon capital of the world – Bardstown, Kentucky – Walsh’s Soulful Americana brand reflects the mellow grace and nuanced affect of his Kentucky spirit - smooth and subtle, with an undeniable Southern edge. Walsh will independently release a full-length album – Ballad of a Middle American – on August 18, 2017.

Produced by Howie Gano (Tim Krekel) and featuring guitarist Greg Foresman (Martina McBride), Ballad of a Middle American is a collection of thirteen songs that explore universal themes of human experience. Walsh’s lyrical style elegantly conveys his own life-journey in a manner that is accessible and relatable to the listener. Of the impetus to create Ballad of a Middle American, Walsh says, “I wanted to do three things:  authentically express my identify as a songwriter; create a collaborative space for great musicianship; and connect to people through a sense of shared life experience.”

An educator, Walsh has devoted his professional life to the service of others. He draws parallels between his career and his musical avocation saying, “I think there is a natural synergy between music and education. The complexities of life lead us to search for meaning. Both music and education provide a way to express ideas about why we are searching, and what we ultimately learn about ourselves along the way. The “why” and the “what” of my life are the story of Ballad of a Middle American.”
