Errol Ian Ave Acosta a.k.a Chesspnoi, an upcoming underground rapper is an Aquarius who was born on February 9, 1980 and raised in Honolulu Hawaii. Errol’s motherland is Philippines; he is a Proud Pinoy. He was introduced to music by his dad, who plays a variety of instruments, primarily the trumpet and keyboard with several live bands in Hawaii. Errol played the trumpet during his intermediate and high school band days; it was then, he learned to embrace the sound of jazz and blues; he had a few trumpet solos in the high school jazz band; he also gained appreciation for the sound of the harmonica in jazz and blues songs; blues also influenced his love for Rap. Errol also plays the Harmonica and owns several of them.

In the 90’s, Errol gained the love for the sound of Hip-Hop & Rap; his favorite artists include:

The Pharcyde, Digital Underground, 2Pac, Notorious BIG, NAS, Eminem, Big Daddy Kane, Eric B. Rakim and more; Errol was an avid fan of Yo MTV raps. It wasn’t until late 2000’s (2018/2019) he started rapping on Rap Chat for fun, then Soundcloud and discovered a way to vent as if he was writing in his journal. Errol uploads all his songs on Spotify and Apple Music.

Some of Errol’s accomplishments include winning a few chess tournaments (he is an active member of the United States Chess Federation and has blogs on chess.com), earning the title Marine; he served in the Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF V) (Afghanistan) in 2005; he reached (20) years in the USMC in February 2018). Errol was a recruit in 1999 and completed a successful tour as a Drill Instructor from January 2007 to February 2010; you can hear the raspy voice in his raps; gained from yelling at recruits for (3) years; he has competed several times in boxing; where the blunt force trauma came from, also giving him cataracts in the later years (Listen to Poetry at Optometry).

Errol is Married to his beautiful wife Cheryl; they have (2) dogs, Calvin and Cody. As this bio is being written, 19:02 on 12/26/19, Cheryl is 38 weeks and they have baby (Ethan) on a way (listen to Chesspnoi’s song Ethan).

Errol released (2) albums late in 2019: Nobody’s Smoking Crack and Cataracts & Cognition.
