Bio
- Chemical Mass is a five piece hard rock group from Jefferson City, Missouri. The band originally included Steve Walters (Sifted/Aventine) Jordan Klebba (Rev Theory) Tom Troesser (Decadent Nation) Brad Toebben (Pyro Gourmet/Cambrian Fall) and Tony Schulte (Decadent Nation), all of which were local bands of the Mid Missouri Music scene.
- Established in early 2014, Chemical Mass hit the mid Missouri music scene and released a 4 track demo featuring 4 original songs such as "Denial" and "Nibiru" and it gave an early indication to their chosen direction of sound. With “Karnivool” and “Tool” like influences, 2015 brought around their first digital release, a professionally mixed and mastered single titled "Beyond What You Know”. 2016 they released their second single titled "Secrets and Lies", which was brought on by an even more dynamic approach to their songwriting. The band worked on building a strong local fan base and frequently performed at various venues in the mid-Missouri and surrounding areas such as The Blue Note (Columbia, Missouri), Mojo's/Rose Music Hall (Columbia, Missouri), The Mission (Jefferson City, Missouri), The Bridge (Jefferson City, Missouri), The All-Star Rock Bar (Kansas City, Missouri) and Pop's Nightclub (Sauget, Illinois). In November 11th, 2018 they performed their very first acoustic/unplugged set as they opened a show for Saliva at the Blue Note in Columbia, Missouri.
- The band hit turbulence, however, in 2016 when their original drummer, Tony Schulte, stepped down from the position. Lucas Schroer stepped in to the position in December of 2017, but left shortly after due to a change in career. Dan Graff (Accidental Influence), stepped into the position in February ‘17.
- Founding guitarist Jordan Klebba also left the band in July of 2017, to begin his new journey as a Firefighter and husband. Chemical Mass welcomed Jim Perkins (Accidental Influence), who had been working with Jordan before his departure, to fill the position.
- In September drummer, Dan Graff, parted ways with the band due to personal reasons and previous drummer, Lucas Schroer, returned to the group.
- In 2018, Chemical Mass joined forces with Jason Schrick of JPS Productions. In order to further their musical path, they hit the studio to record their new single, “Tempted” with Jason Schrick and Ian Eddy at Kevlar Soul Records in St. Peter’s, MO and held release party for the tune in December of 2018.
- Tempted is now available at most digital retailers and the band looks to a promising future.
