This 18 year old female MC is who we are watching this week! Charnelle, born in Virginia has recently gained attention from her cover of Nicki Minaj’s ‘lookin’ ass nigga’. Charnelle who is making a name in her own right for being a good lyricist says she generally tries to stay clear of covering other female rappers such as Nicki because she doesn’t want to be compared but after a request from a fan she humbly obliged to do the cover. Some of the positive feedback she has received includes comments on soundcloud ‘She just made me a fan with this flow!!’ and it’s not just soundcloud where she is gaining recognition, she has a YouTube channel, where you can watch her perform some songs live, that has hundreds of followers, views and positive comments.
