“His most recent record, Touch EP, features a small but fantastic collection of classic rock 'n' roll rawness. It’s like a more sinister Band of Skulls with the gritty lo-fi of the White Stripes and plenty of hard-chugging rock 'n' roll superpower. Nasty blues guitar licks and crunchy riffs are eased along by Hopkins’ Alice Cooper-like low growl and occasional howls. It’s motorcycle music for road trips and ass-kicking.” - Broward New Times
...Casey Hopkins is sure to charm– imbuing ’70s glam/proto-cock-rock vibes with a whole new nowness. - Bedford and Bowery
“His voice is nostalgic of the classic rock of the 1970’s, but his wild and chaotic guitar riffs and solos create a vicious ‘80’s punk rock vibe.” - BTRRead
“...a mean case of DIY blues, electric and gritty and astutely executed live to tape to comprise the Touch EP, four songs that will excite fans of JSBX, The Cramps, Soledad Brothers and so on.” - Destroy//Exist
The Casey Hopkins Duo has a huge sound for a two man project. The Brooklyn-based band plays unapologetic, bluesy rock 'n' roll with a brazen swagger and an eye to psych bands of the late 60's. Their latest release, Touch EP, was recorded to tape and has all the warmth and crackle of an old rock record, but the addition of some sinisterly fuzzy guitars keeps the band sounding unlike classic-rock, copycat acts. That and singer Casey Hopkins's crazy charismatic vocals make The Casey Hopkins Duo a must-listen. - Olivia Sisinni, - The Deli Magazine
