Always had a love for music, and being blessed with a natural talent of playing piano by ear, Carita Cole began making freestyle videos on social media sparking interest as a teen. Rapidly growing a fan base, she knew that music was something she could pursue professionally. The young maestro spent much of her free time composing and recording music in a makeshift home studio with a group of friends; Not only does she produce and record most of her music, Carita has directed more than 20 of her own music videos. Describing her sound as a mixture of Trap and R&B Cole says, "I want fans to feel chill bumps when listening to my music. I want them them to be excited." HHW had the opportunity to have a short chat with Carita Cole, just ahead of her releasing a new project this summer.

Residing in Jackson, TN, Carita Cole is a multi-talented rapper and singer that dived into music at an early age. Carita first began singing and playing piano at the age of 7, trying to imitate the music that her parents would play at home. By age 11, Carita was playing the trumpet. In school, Carita realized that she excelled in music, as opposed to other hobbies, and eventually decided to make it a career.
Jackson, TN is relatively small city, 70 miles east of Memphis. Over the years, the city has taught Carita one of the most valuable lessons she has learned to date; never give up. Despite the fact that many local artists look at each other as competition instead of a potential ally, Carita has remained resilient, while promoting positivity in her music.
Today, Carita delivers her first single release of 2018, titled “Backseat.” With dark, entrancing production from Scott Supreme, Carita takes a rebellious approach, letting us know she will never take a backseat in this industry. Known for her signature raspy voice, Carita continues to make every song she writes just as potent, if not more, as the last.
Carita is known for empowering her fans with her refreshing, thought provoking music that has drawn comparisons to Rapsody, Lecrae, and J. Cole. “Backseat” is certainly a testament of this, with Carita effortlessly switching from sharp lyricism to a bit of singing.
Carita has dropped two projects, “Under Construction” and “Hard” since her 9-track debut, “Caution” in 2014. Though Carita has not announced a release date for her forthcoming body of work, fans can expect the official music video for “Backseat,” to drop in the near future. - RESPECT Magazine
Influenced by Drake, Migos, and Lil Uzi Vert, Carita Cole would not consider herself a “conscious” artist. Known for her signature raspy voice, Carita aspires to make every song she writes just as potent, if not more, as the last. She is a versatile artist, that has blended a Southern flavor, with candid lyricism, and melodies common in today’s music, to create some truly impressive music.

Carita Cole is a multi-talented artist best known for her bold flavor. Having been raised in a military based family, her life transcends in her music. Cole is originally from Glendale, AZ, but she has lived around the world. She currently resides Tennessee.
Cole’s natural musical talents were discovered while in elementary school. The young artist began singing and playing piano by ear at the age of 7. She worked hard to master her sound and production skills as a teen. The young maestro spent much of her free time composing and recording music in a makeshift home studio with a group of friends; Her hobby quickly became a passion. Not only does she produce and record most of her music, Carita has directed more than 20 of her own music videos.
There has been a gradual merger between todays popular culture and music over time. Consequently, Carita Cole has seized the opportunity to develop a sound that breaks the traditional barriers of genre categorization. Trap Hip Hop and R&B music benchmarked her career and have warranted her appearances on Bounce TV and placements in within several other digital and print media outlets such as Thisis50.com, and more.
