The Dyad

The Dyad is a hip-hop/neo soul duo consisting of Skribe KAL (Cory Allen) and ChrisP (Chris Parks) from a small town off of the coast of southern California called Oceanside. The journey began in early 2009 when both members of the duo were members of a local dance crew. They gained a local buzz dancing around the streets of their home town and began to be recognized everywhere they went. After about 6 months the crew landed a sponsorship with a local hip hop crew called Rocafornia. This was when KAL and Chris P were presented the opportunity to bless the mic for the very first time. The dance crew was given an exclusive instrumental to choreograph a dance routine too for rocafornias album. After some conversation with the Rocafornia staff, the song now known as ”aktiivefreshkids”, was organically created with ChrisP and KAL at the forefront. This is when they found their true passion what they were truly destined to do. After a few months KAL and ChrisP parted ways. ChrisP created a local hip hop group called D2A & KAL went on to pursue a solo career. During the time the two were split up they both dropped a mixtape that made a buzz around the city. ChrisP dropped his solo debut mixtape entitled “I’m Just Aktiive” in early 2011. Skrbe dropped his debut mixtape entitled “Heart & Soul” in mid-2012. While attending school ChrisP and a good friend by the name of Anthony Briggs, also former member of the dance crew, formed a new group out of World Tuned Studios called Cool Calm Collected Crew. Once decided to make KAL a member of the group the trio went into a 2 year long journey exonerating conceptual and lucid ideas creating a unique sound and style.  During that long span of time, Anthony Briggs left the group due to other obligations and ambitions. Due to his absence C4 (Cool Calm Collected Crew) transformed into a entertainment group and left ChrisP & KAL as a duo group now known as The Dyad. On May 27th, 2015 “Latter Day Hippies” mixtape was released by the duo on SoundCloud & Datpiff. The Dyad just released their single, Vibes. Currently The Dyad is campaigning for their debut studio album entitled “Roots” scheduled to drop in 2018. They also have a full schedule this summer touring the coast of California hosting events, rocking shows, & doing radio interviews with various outlets.
