BUK of PSYCHODRAMA

Buk, 1/3 of the infamous rap group" Psychodrama", started rapping in the 4th grade on the westside of Chicago Il. in 1985. He debuted his craft at the Lawndale Community Academy "Chicago Bears Superbowl Pep Rally". On that day, a little star was born as he became known around the neighborhood as the little boy who could rap and write lyrics. At age 11, Buk recorded his first song with D.J. Funk. At 12, he became one of the original members of the rap group " DO OR DIE ". It was D.O.D's "A.K." who first gave him the name "YUNGBUK" because he liked to hang out and emulate the older boys. He laughs when he remembers them saying "boy you better go home". Buk's persistence paid off though as a year later he recorded 10 songs and his 2 singles " teachin lessons" and " leavin em petro" played on WKKC radio out of Kennedy King College on the south side of Chicago. this invaluable experience propelled him into ventures most kids dream about but few ever attain. The next 7 years saw Buk busy with guest appearances on 40 plus mix tapes and mainstream releases including ATLANTIC recording artist "TWISTA's" debut album "Adrenaline Rush "
(GOLD)1997 and SUAVE HOUSE/ UNIVERSAL label mate 8 ball's solo debut "LOST"(2xplatinum)1998. Buk appeared with Master P, Mystikal and Silk the shocker on 8 ball's 1st single and video for the song " pure uncut ". Additional cuts include, ROC-A-FELLA/ DEF JAM recording artist Cameron's album"purple haze" where he made a scorching guest appearance on the selection" Adrenaline rush 2", and starred in a lead role in the independent film " Trust none". Working in the business from such an early age provided Buk with an entrepreneurial sense and knowledge of both the creative and the business side of the music industry. Buk utilized all his resources and talents by creating his own record label " THE PADDED ROOM RECORDING COMPANY ", and became his own distribution outlet- literally hand delivering his product to record stores throughout the Midwest and south. From California to New York to Overseas Psychodrama has remained one of the most popular rap groups on the underground for the last 14 years. Currently, Buk is in the studio producing what recording artist and music executives hail as one of the most anticipated solo albums of all time. This album entitled "THE DEEP END " was inspired by Buk's illustrious and extraordinary career. Buk promises this album will deliver the most impassioned lyrical insight of his life's journey from growing up on the rough streets of the west side of Chicago to life as a struggling artist with tremendous talent while overcoming continual obstacles. All grown up, Buk decided to drop yung from his name and now he's helping a new crop of rappers, singers and musicians from his old neighborhood, utilizing his life experiences, heartaches, achievements and successes to make a difference in the lives of others.
