Now that she’s turned 25, Miami-born singer-songwriter Bryce Drew’s time has come, maybe not for romance, but to share her remarkable confessional narratives with the world. The daughter of a Trinidad native mom and a father from Miami, Bryce sang in choir groups before picking up guitar at 16 to serenade her grandmother suffering from Alzheimer’s with Joni Mitchell, Corinne Bailey Rae and Amy Winehouse covers. She quickly learned the healing power of music, both for others and herself.
At 17, a cover Bryce posted on YouTube of a song by U.K. performer Lauren Aquilina led to an invitation to open for her in London and New York. Soon after, she moved to Nashville to study Songwriting at Belmont University. It was there that she began collaborating with other writers, performing in such notable clubs as the fabled Bluebird Café and Mercy Lounge. Bryce was also a support act on Nina Nesbitt's US tour. After graduating, a college mentor made an introduction to Grammy-winning producer Greg Wells, who had worked on multi-platinum albums with celebrated artists like Adele, Katy Perry and Taylor Swift. What began as a cup of coffee included an impromptu audition of her songs and Greg wondering where the album was. Bryce moved to LA and the two began making her record together. Throughout the pandemic, Bryce has been busy independently releasing her first three singles. Now that the world has begun its return to normalcy, Bryce Drew is more than ready for her coming-out party.
