Monroe said that she penned this song as a bit of advice to a friend who had been trying to mend a broken relationship after being cheated on by her significant other. “You already threw trust away, staying here would be a mistake, so I won’t wait.” Those empowering lyrics can be applied to any situation where your value as a person is compromised. That encouragement is refreshing to hear! She carries a dream in her heart, and the confident “no” that makes up the hook of the song, is her anthem – that she will not stop until she has made her dreams a reality.

Bio
Britney Monroe was practically born singing. She fell into songwriting when she traded her business degree for Belmont University's Songwriting program so she could take music classes and graduate on time. It wasn't until four years after graduating college and having her heart broken that Britney started to devote herself to music full time. She packed up her guitar in her first car, a Fiat her parents bought to help kickstart Britney's new independence, and traveled throughout the United States with no game plan other than to play music. But it was those long days of driving, late nights playing shows, and new friends met along the way that helped direct Britney on her musical journey.
Over the last four years, Britney has managed her own booking and social media accounts while performing 100+ shows per year and writing 75 to 100 songs per year. She volunteers monthly with Musicians on Call, an organization that brings the healing power of music to the bedsides of hospital patients. After four years of entertainment industry experience, Britney has done everything from iHeartRadio radio interviews to acting in commercials to playing notable venues such as the Bluebird Cafe and Rockwood Music Hall to private corporate events.
