Maybe if you spend your time trolling through Soundcloud you may have seen them. If not then you are officially behind on the new wave. Jay- R, CvmQuest, TySafari, and Rye have made a name for themselves in their hometown of Suffolk, Virginia, with a new generation of rap fans embracing their unique sound. Their diverse background adds to their musical creativity, pulling influences from around the globe with Jay-R, 18, born in Honolulu, HI, CvmQuest, 18, born in Augsburg, Germany, TySafari, 16, born in Landstuhl, Germany and Rye, 17, born in Dayton, Ohio. Talking to three of the member on the phone for an hour (TySafaari is still in highschool), it’s clear that despite their young age these guys are here to stay, and with heavy hitters like Pusha- T and Pharrell cosigning them the are sure to dominate. - Nylon Guys
Waisting no time after the release of their buzz-worthy “Stay Up Late“ single with accompanying visual, Virginia collective BreezePark unload their highly anticipated debut EP, “Strangers.” Equipped with a co-sign from G.O.O.D. Music recording artist Pusha T, some top notch instrumentation from in-house producer Mike Carey, as well as a few guest sound architects including Chicago’s own Martin $ky, the 12-track project is sure to be fan favorite. BreezePark is Virginia's new hip hop collective that consist of Jay-R, CvmQuest, TySafari, and Rye. The group is encompassed by a theme of diversity from their sound, to their influences, personal lives and upbringing. Although diverse, artistry is their commonplace as each of them accent their sound and image with their own grace and style. With a new generation of rap fans clamouring for the traditional sound of the early '90s, BreezePark captures the true essence of hip hop. Jay-R, 18 was born in Honolulu, HI. He's one of the founding members of BreezePark. Jay-R is very diverse as an artist and he loves to produce and engineer tracks as well. CvmQuest, 18, born in Augsburg, Germany. He's the other founding member of BreezePark. He favors Hip Hop's Golden era with reflection of a 90's type sound. However, CvmQuest displays a lot of versatility with his lyricism, dancing skills, and fashion trends. TySafari, 16, born in Landstuhl, Germany. He feels a strong connection with music and inhales knowledge from his life experiences. Although his young age his voice is powerful and carries a message all wants to hear. Rye, 17, born in Dayton, Ohio. He has a passion for all aspects of music including playing instruments. He has a powerful feel with 90's hip hop and heavily influenced by old school hip hop artists.
