"Emmy Wildwood & Bredahl Combine "Breathe Me" With "Lean On.""

To fete the release of Sia's latest LP This Is Acting on Friday, NYC-based musicians Emmy Wildwood and Bredahl (a.k.a. synth-pop producer Nik Lokensgaard) decided to go back in time for a mash-up of the Aussie superstar's breakthrough track "Breathe Me" with Major Lazer 2015 megahit "Lean On."

The result flips the latter on its head, the lyrics "blow a kiss, fire a gun, all we need is somebody to lean on," feeling all the more sinister with Sia's weighty verses to balance them out. See for yourself and give the stunning visual a spin below. - Billboard

"Watch This Haunting New Mashup Video of Sia's "Breathe Me" and Major Lazer's "Lean On""

A pair of musicians in Brooklyn, New York, just released a haunting mashup-cover and music video of Sia's ballad "Breathe Me" and Major Lazer's electric "Lean On" and it sounds both hauntingly beautiful and nothing like either original song.

Emmy Wildwood and Nik Lokensgaard, of Bredahl, were inspired to create the mashup after Bredahl produced Wildwood's eerie song "Scream," which was played in teasers for the Fox show Scream Queens, the Daily Dot reported. The song features Lokensgaard and Wildwood swapping lyrics to "Breathe Me" and "Lean On" over a consistently slow, evocative melody. - MIC

"Emmy Wildwood & Bredahl - Breathe Me/Lean On"

New York singer/songwriter Emmy Wildwood has teamed up with indie producer Bredahl for a unique mashup of Sia's "Breathe Me" and Major Lazer and Mø’s "Lean On."

The pair previously worked together on "Scream," the title track for the show of the same name, and like that track, this mashup has a haunting melody with modern pop sensibilities.

The track is driven by creeping synths and the dynamic male/female vocal duet of Wildwood and Bredahl, with Wildwood's lush voice the key to this brilliant composition. - Indie Shuffle

"iTunes Editors' Pick"

The NYC-based Bredahl (pronounced bray-doll) emerged as a formidable trio playing the city’s clubs. However, this debut 2014 EP centers on singer/songwriter Nik Lokensgaard’s mastery of complex hi-fi home recording and his struggles with past love and those nagging “what ifs” that drive contemplative people nuts. Time spent in Denmark introduced him to the power of Scandinavian pop, and there’s a Jens Lekman–styled love for strong hooks on “Just Play the Part” and “Never Going to Get It Right.” There's a forlorn beauty to “Wearing Down,” where the falsetto-driven chorus breaks like sunlight over the icy blue hearts. - iTunes
