Coming out of the depths of northeast Philadelphia, Brandthebuilder has emerged as a star in the making as a hip hop producer. Brandthebuilder’s four albums have given the hip hop community a breath of fresh air through eccentric and acclaimed sampling styles. While hustling handbags, watches, and shoes on canal street with his father, he fell in love with hip hop mixtapes sold on the busy street corners. Here, at a young age, is where he became obsessed with hop hop and discovered some of his favorites in music, such as The Wu-Tang Clan, 50 Cent, Biggie Smalls, and Lil’ Wayne. Though hip hop changed his life, his roots of being raised on soul and blues gave him the tools needed to find his sound. Currently, Brandthebuilder is working on new music and plans to run a weekly release of music for the next year. While Philadelphia knows him as “That Dude” when it comes to his production, he plans to reach out to more of the country this year.
