Bio
Born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana Brandon took a liking to jazz the first time he heard it. At the tender age of 11, Brandon Douthitt picked up a saxophone for the first time, beginning his musical journey. It was apparent early on that he had a musical gift. He continued to hone his craft throughout middle school and high school. Currently, Brandon is furthering his musical aspirations at Butler University where he is a junior studying music with a jazz studies concentration as well as recording industry studies. Brandon studies privately with Dr. Matt Pivec. He was the lead alto saxophone in the Butler University Jazz Band, a member of the Clifford Ratliff Big Band, Skidmore Jazz Institute alumnus and a saxophone private lesson instructor. Although the alto saxophone is BrandonĂ¢€™s first love, he also plays the soprano saxophone, tenor saxophone, bari saxophone, clarinet and the flute. His music has afforded him the opportunity to perform at numerous venues across the US such as Radio City Music Hall, The Chatterbox, Silvana, NJPAC, The Jazz Kitchen, The Mariott Hotel-Downtown Indianapolis, Indiana Repertory Theatre and the Indianapolis Museum of Art. He has also been able to play alongside musical talents such as Jeff Coffin, Bill Cunliffe, Michael Mossman, Melvin Rhyne and many other notable names.
