Bobbi Wilson

Bobbi is a recording artist currently based in Jacksonville, Fla. via NYC and Atlanta. Her album "Wanderlust" was released in late 2012. This collection includes some re-imagined jazz standards as well as original pieces. From the bittersweet bossa nova "How Insensitive" with nylon stringed guitar to the brass backed "Grown Up Girl", it will appeal to anyone who loves great music; not only jazz lovers.

Although Bobbi's earlier vocal studies were focused on classical voice and technique, her interest in the classical genre is now purely experimental, and she continues to find deeper enjoyment exploring jazz, blues, bossa, electronic, and other contemporary styles. She finds musical interpretation and emotional expression to be critical aspects of any performance, and enjoys the challenge of capturing the right ambiance of each project.

Her influences tend to be artists that, through solid technique, are able to vocally express undeniable emotional depth. Maria Callas, Jeff Buckley, Ann Wilson, Geoff Tate, Shirley Horn, Anita O'Day, Johnette Napolitano, and George Michael are a few.

Bobbi is also available as a session and backup vocalist, both in the studio and live. With her stylistic diversity and amazing ear, pitch, and blending ability, she will help capture the musical ideas you have in mind quickly and proficiently, or create some improv ideas if you prefer.
