Drummer, composer, producer, band leader and clinician Bob Holz is a veteran in the music business. He has shared the stage with Larry Coryell, Peter Tosh, The Outlaws, Mountain, Noel Redding, Robben Ford, Foghat, Molly Hatchet, Head East, Savoy Brown, Tonio K, Benny Mardones, Wolfman Jack, The Winters Brothers, Blackfoot, Shemika Copeland, Johnny Winter, Eddie Money, Maria Muldaur, Dr. John, The Grass Roots, Three Dog Night, Blue Oyster Cult, Elvin Bishop, Duke Robillard, Renee Austin, Marcia Ball, Sue Foley, Ansun Funderburgh and the Rockets with Sam Meyers, Otis Rush, Eddie Shaw and the Wolf Gang, Pinetop Perkins, Little Charlie and the Night Cats, Commander Cody, Point Blank, Grinderswitch, Stillwater, Bobby Kimball of Toto, Orleans, Brian Howe of Bad Company, Dakota, George Clinton and Parliament Funk and many others.
Bob Holz will release his fourth CD entitled A Vision Forward in 2016. This will be a decidedly more fusion / jazz format and will feature Holz's poly-rhythmic drumming. Joining Bob on this release are guitarists Mike Stern and Larry Coryell along with trumpeter Randy Brecker. Also featured is former Dave Weckl Band keyboardist, Steve Weingart. Other guests include Ada Rovatti on sax (John Mclaughlin, Miroslav Vitous) and Hammond B3 organ wiz Billy Steinway (Annie Lenox, Stevie Wonder, Jazz Crusaders). Look for the release sometime in 2016.

Bob Holz's A Vision Forward is a jazz/fusion band consisting of Bob Holz- drums, jazz/fusion legend Larry Coryell- guitar and Ralphe Armstrong ( Mahavishnu Orchestra, Frank Zappa) - bass.They are touring to support Holz's new release, A Vision Forward which features Randy Brecker, Larry Coryell,Mike Stern and Steve Weingart. Composer/producer/drummer/clinician: Bob Holz is an alumni of Berklee School of Music. He majored in performance and composition and studied with teachers Gary Chaffee and Michael Gibbs. He went on to study privately with Dave Weckl and Billy Cobham. He also found a mentor in drummer Wilby Fletcher Jr.( McCoy Tyner). Fletcher shared his wealth of knowledge and experience with Holz over a 15 year time span up until his untimely death in 2010. Holz has composed and played on numerous live and studio recordings, movie sound tracks and theatrical productions. Perhaps his most well know movie sound track was for the major motion picture entitled Show Your Love directed by Edward J. Bruno for VCA films. Holz has also toured extensively as a band leader (The Bob Holz Band).
Holz played at the 1999 Woodstock Music Festival in New York. He also performed along with Dr. John at a coveted awards ceremony at the 2006 M&T Jazz Festival in Syracuse, NY. In 2010 he traveled to Memphis to participate and perform as a finalist in the W.C. Handy Blues Awards. Bob has shared the stage with Robben Ford, Les McCann, David Fat Head Newman, Cornell Dupree, James Cotton, Peter Tosh, The Outlaws, Mountain, Noel Redding, Foghat, Molly Hatchet, Head East, Savoy Brown, Wolfman Jack, The Winters Brothers, Blackfoot, Shemika Copeland, Johnny Winter, Eddie Money, Maria Muldaur, Dr. John, The Grass Roots, Three Dog Night, Blue Oyster Cult, Elvin Bishop, Duke Robillard, Renee Austin, Marcia Ball, Sue Foley, Otis Rush, Pinetop Perkins, Commander Cody, Point Blank, Grinderswitch, Stillwater, Bobby Kimball of Toto, Orleans, Brian Howe of Bad Company and George Clinton/ Parliament Funk.
As of 2015 Holz has 3 CDs released as a leader. Holz has formed a long standing musical partnership with 3 time Grammy nominee Frank Stepanek who has been the guitarist for reggae superstars, Black Uhuru for 30 years. Stepanek has recorded and produced all of Bob's solo recordings. Holz released his third CD entitled Split Decision on August 23, 2014. The CD was nominated for the Best Jazz category in the 2014 SAMMY Awards in New York. Joining Bob on that release was Simon Phillips/ Protocol member and former Dave Weckl Band keyboardist Steve Weingart. Other guests included saxophonist Paulie Cerra (Joe Bonamassa, Larry Carlton) and keyboardist Billy Steinway (Annie Lennox, Stevie Wonder, Jazz Crusaders). Bob's current band lineup includes Bob on drums along with Larry Coryell on guitar and Ralphe Armstrong on bass.
Holz has finished his 4th CD as a leader entitled "A Vision Forward". Featured guests include Mike Stern, Larry Coryell, Randy Brecker, Steve Weingart and Ada Rovatti. The CD will be released in 2016.
