Blurry Stars is a new guitar driven indie rock project formed and fronted by LA-based singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Sean Alan. Raw and energetic, the sound is inspired by vintage punk, 90’s post-hardcore, millennium garage noise, and the edgier classic rock of the 60’s and 70’s.
The moniker Blurry Stars was originally adopted by Sean Alan to provide a vehicle for the louder, heavier music he wanted to create following the relative success of his soul-inspired single “In This World. The project has since become a conduit for explosive creativity and radical re-invention, live and in the studio, as Sean and his accomplices realize a musical vision that has been 20 years in the making.
Blurry Stars’s debut full length album “What’s Next,” is a collection of spirited garage rock anthems scheduled for release in the summer of 2023. Pairing vivid lyrical imagery, vintage textures and blistering guitar solos, “What’s Next” is a bold record written, recorded and produced by Sean Alan in his own Twin Peacock studios. The album is the first in an ambitious decade-long project in which Sean plans to write, record and tour a new Blurry Stars album every year for the next ten years.
Presently, Blurry Stars is performing as a three piece, with Andrew Zeiser on drums, Peter Alison on bass and Sean Alan on guitar and vocals. Watch for the band’s live appearances in Los Angeles, where they will be burning in new material in anticipation of the 2023 record release tour and next trip to the recording studio.
