"Blind Strike - Lost Pawn"

Blind Strike’s debut rock-alternative album, Lost Pawn, is slightly reminiscent of that 70’s and 80’s classic, hard-rock story-telling anthem mixed with a sort of polished garage band feel. Lead singer, Cody Jeffryes’ voice is smooth – almost haunting – and he can really drive it home when needed during a musical climax. The entire band has nice harmonies and intricate, driving guitar riffs. Each song begins with a slow or intense intro, especially “Lost Pawn” and “Mistake.” They really have a way of grabbing you in emotionally before they rock you ears off. “The Story Of” is sort of bouncy and Americana-like, ‘Riding westward across the desert sky…’ Don’t worry though; the band doesn’t go all soft on its listeners. The song picks up the rock-and-roll as the song progresses. The album ends with “Atoya”, with a brilliant melancholy tune that hits you right in the heart. - Scene Magazine

"Blind Strike - Curse the Worst"

Colorado’s own Blind Strike has something for you. It’s their first EP, Curse The Worst, and it’s oozing with high energy muscle and buzz.
Consisting of Cody Jeffreys on lead vocals, Dan Sanborn on lead guitar, Mason Mondy on drums and Paul Kelly on bass, the boys rip through an eight song EP – minus a beautifully melodic tune “9 Weeks Acoustic” – producing a punk rock/arena rock sound that consistently displays shredding guitar solos, a pulsating and precise rhythm section and vocals that are clear and straightforward enough as to not get too lost in the sound of the instruments.
“Night Crawler” opens up with a yelp from lead vocalist Cody Jeffreys and jumps right into a hard backbeat, with cymbals being slapped all over the place. Lead guitarist Dan Sanborn’s signature sound of fuzzy buzzy-ness is present here, eventually catapulting into multiple, spin-around-the-clock guitar solos, which at times sound like something Slash would conjure up.
Slowing it down a bit, “Reap The Benefit” once again has the solid rhythm section of Mason Mondy and Paul Kelly doing their thing, with Kelly making fatty, mini-bass runs throughout the tune. The unapologetic observation, “No longer daddy’s little girl cause she lost her mind/ Oh ya know cause she live in my world,” is made by Jeffreys.
Talent within this group is wholly present, and by opening up and extending some things beyond the three and a half minute mark they’ve set themselves apart in their genre. - Scene Magazine

Bio

Starting as Cody Jeffryes and Mason Mondy in 2009, they quickly added Dan Sanborn to be a three piece, and later Paul Kelly joined the trio prior to their debut EP release of "Curse the Worst" in early 2011. From then, the band performed consistently around Colorado while writing their first full length album, Lost Pawn, which was released in October 2012 followed by a Midwest tour. With Dan's departure to Texas, Blind Strike brought in local shredder Tyler Buck to take over lead guitar for the next few months of performances.  Reminiscent of the band's early days, the guys are back to a three piece and preparing to record an EP in 2014.
