Bio
Belle-Skinner aka Maria Brosgol is an upstate New York singer-songwriter and guitarist. Her work is a blend of classical and indie-folk music, featuring intricate fingerpicking, bell-like vocals and themes inspired by travel, literature and film. Major influences include Iron & Wine, Sufjan Stevens, Elliot Smith and St. Vincent.
In 2013 she was awarded a Maguire Fellowship to study music production in London, where she recorded her most recent EP, Operator.
Opening for acts such as Saint Saviour and Bill Ryder-Jones in the Roundhouse Theatre in London and Sean Rowe at WCPH in Albany, she has since performed as a showcasing songwriter at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival and at the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival in Colorado.
