Bio
Bárbara Zayas is a Mexican-American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who grew up between the Matamoros, Mexico and Brownsville, Texas border. In 2016, Bárbara began her professional career in the city of Boston, Massachusetts, where she had the opportunity to develop her music along diverse Latino communities in the U.S. In recent years, Bárbara has collaborated with international organizations such as the United Nations (UN) and the Organization of American States (OAS) in Washington, D.C. to advance on issues such as migration, violence and climate change. She states, “My life's purpose is not only to create music, but for my songs to be a vehicle of motivation and empowerment, not only for hispanics and latinos, but across cultures. One of my goals is to create cultural awareness and affect true change in the world.”
