"EXCLUSIVE PREMIERE: Zero Holds – “Carry You”"

"We like to pride ourselves on working with bands that we truly enjoy, so take this as a vote of confidence as to how much this song rips. Zero Holds bring a nostalgic, gritty pop punk vibe on “Carry You”, with just enough twists to keep it fresh. The guitar riff hits like a bulldozer and the emotional vocal delivery gives an extra dimension to the track, ripe with refrains that are tailor-made to be screamed back during live shows. “Carry You” delivers on everything you could want out of a punk song in 2015, so give it a listen." - Mind Equals Blown

Zero holds barred, hold nothing back!  This was the hard fought consensus reached when the arduous band name debate was finally over.  There’s no shortage of rock bands in Massachusetts, never mind New England.  That area is as artistically rich as they come.  Zero Holds needed a name suited to their newly founded, sharper edged creative sword of a four-piece.  This is a rock and roll band with grit, and they may prefer the word “brotherhood” over “band” at this point.  Forming amid the ashes of THE ROMAN NUMERAL THREE, a faux-acoustic/post-punk outfit including Joe Touchette, Mike Rague, and John Thomas, the group is attempting to unify their efforts with the recently recruited drummer Tyler Leadbetter.  They’ve created a faster paced, more rapacious sound honoring their punk and cult rock idols such as Alkaline Trio, Misfits, Hot Water Music, Rancid etc.  Big guitars and a hard pounding rhythm section provide the proper landscape for Rague’s sweeping ambient leads and thrashy snowballing solos.  Always emerging are powerful hymn-like refrains to reel in the blood and guts spilt during gloomy but melodic verses.  Touchette’s lyrics have a tendency to evoke the extreme fragility of success and the importance of the friendships we keep to buoy us in defeat.  Zero Holds will build upon the community vibe and enthusiasm generated in their time as college-aged keg party rockers to explore new and more pressing issues of ambition, maturity, and giving some sustainability to what they do.  As a whole the band’s energetic, punk-influenced sound is now more politically and socially aware, with anthems of both victory and tragedy.  A sense of forward momentum is reflected in the up-tempo gang vocal choruses that anchor their songs and shore up their live performance.
