As he sweeps off the doubters who don’t want him to succeed at all, Yvng Rula sounds like he is in imperious jet-setting form with his on-the-way-up new single filled with ice and shows called ‘Marvelous Sight‘.

Yvng Rula aka Rickdarula aka Ricky Russell, is a Newport Beach, California-based indie hip-hop artist with huge dreams and a prosperous style that makes you stop in your tracks.

With an almost Mac Miller type flow that has you positively spellbound, Yvng Rula shows us his excellent delivery that is crisp and filled with smartly-penned lyrics of a higher standard than most. He speedily grabs your awareness and weaves in skillfully, conquering the moment – and taking you into his well-constructed message – of just going for it no matter what others say or do to slow him down.

‘Marvelous Sight‘ from the Newport Beach, California-based indie rapper Yvng Rula, shreds the mic off its delicate joints and is at his top-shelf promising best with a splendid effort that will perk the ears of many. He seems to occupy a really vivid storyteller talent that only the best have, as he splits the bars down to devastating effect. This is his statement track and one that shows us his growing influence – as he rises up a few notches in this heavily crowded rap world – that needs a fresh new voice to guide the youth in this overly complex world.

Hear this striking new single on Soundcloud and follow his next moves on IG.

Yvng Rula is a 21 year old hip-hop artist from Newport Beach, CA. Starting his career at 16 years old when his friends invited over to make a rap song, he continued to make music and discovered a passion for it. Releasing singles over SoundCloud, the group No Pulp was formed with Yvng Rula (formerly known as Rickdarula) and his fellow rapper O.G Pulp and group producer Johnnyboi at the core. Recorded in the Newport Beach Public Library's music studio, the group came together to put out their first 6 track mixtape titled “HEADS YOU LIVE TAILS YOU DIE" on August 8th, 2017. One month later, Yvng Rula would release one of his biggest, grooviest singles, "Up, I Wake" on September 4th, 2017. The group No Pulp would soon disband, as Yvng Rula was frustrated the others weren’t putting in the same effort into the music as he was. Taking the reins, the group would be renamed after the lead member, Yvng Rula going forward. An argument with his mom turned the year 2018 into a year of a hiatus from releasing music, as his mom deleted all the songs from his SoundCloud page in June 2018 after an argument. Two months later and after a long strife with SoundCloud support, the songs were restored back and Yvng Rula and No Pulp’s music was finally available again. Two months later, the mixtape “HEADS YOU LIVE TAILS YOU DIE 2”, a natural sequel to the first, was released on October 6, 2018. Featuring songs such as “Wake n Bake”, “Up, I Wake” and “Go and Get It!!”, this song featured new hits and a collection of Yvng Rula’s best songs of the past year. An energetic, bouncy single named “Ribbon” would follow that, generating some new small buzz along with single “Rula Dripp” before the next mixtape would be released. “HEADS YOU LIVE TAILS YOU DIE 3” would be released February 8, 2019, the last of Yvng Rula’s mixtapes that would be released while he was in high school. Featuring a wavy, floaty intro song “Icy” and accompanied by hard hitters such as “Ribbon” and “Ballin’ Up”, and collaborating with Spike720 for the song “Get it Up”, this mixtape had many fun, pleasing, sonically enjoyable tracks. Rula would team back up with rapper Spike720 for track “Get-Dat” before gearing up to release his next mixtape in Summer 2019. Yvng Rula would release the 8 track mixtape, “8 BALL” on August 8th, 2019. Linking up with local rapper Tino Cherry, Yvng Rula would do his first performance in Los Angeles in September 2019, opening for artist Kid Shyne, preforming the unreleased song, “Stay Down!” Soon after, Yvng Rula’s first music video would be released for the track “Up, I Wake” on YouTube. Growing his buzz, Rula teamed up with rapper Spike720 for the song “New Day”, released in September 2019 also. He also dropped the single “Game Over” in November 2019 accompanied with the music video for the song as well. Eyeing the turn of the decade, Yvng Rula would release his next mixtape “HEADS YOU LIVE TAILS YOU DIE 4” on January 1st, 2020. To celebrate the release of the new mixtape, Yvng Rula did his 2nd ever live show in Anaheim, CA at Chain Reaction on January 5th, 2020. Continuing to record songs heavily, shortly after the performance he recorded a song he couldn’t hold on to for long, releasing the single “Broken Heart” on January 11th 2020, straying from his original energetic style for emotional, melancholy vocals layered over an acoustic guitar and piano. As his career was beginning to grow its feet and his wings were beginning to grow, his plans would be thrown into disarray by the COVID pandemic of 2020. Preforming became much more difficult, so Yvng Rula continued to work on songs in his studio for the rest of the year. “Thank You”, Yvng Rula’s 6th mixtape, with 14 tracks, was released on December 3, 2020. Continuing his passion to release mixtapes and grow his discography, he teamed up with a producer named XPSV from England to work on new songs. They would make a whole bunch of songs and use them to collaborate for the 11 song mixtape, “Surprise Party”, released on May 14, 2021. Next, the 12 track mixtape, “The Real One” would drop on August 8th, 2021. One single followed “The Real One”, with “Marvelous Sight” releasing on September 24, 2021. Rula’s largest mixtape in terms of songs to date would come next, his tenth, with the 22 song mixtape “In Another World” dropping on February 22, 2022. The lead track “Blue Dream” would get a music video filmed to it while Rula was traveling in Mississippi, released on April 4, 2022. By now Rula had released a large amount of music, almost too much to keep track of. His large amount of music released felt out of proportion to his small fanbase. Feeling lost, Rula decided to what he does best, and released his 11th mixtape, “Lost into Infinity” on August  8, 2022. To date, he hasn’t released any music since then. With a large discography of music, Rula is looking to take the steps to capitalize on his strengths and bring his music to the world.
