Bio
Young Bread calls College Park, Georgia home but was born and bred in “The Battlefield” of Springfield, Illinois into the notorious Horton family headed by the late Midwest Kingpin “Cornbread Horton.” Bread says “One thing I know are gangsters, so I felt we could go anywhere and people gone accept me, so being on the streets of Old National, Flat Shoals and Riverdale Rd was similar to being in Springfield. The Southside... That's my hood.” At the age of 10, he aspired to play sports like baseball and basketball with a stronger interest in music but the streets was where he found comfort. Bread would eventually find himself in the mix of killers, selling drugs, robbing and making moves that could easily place him in prison for life.
Young Bread knew that he had a story to tell the world, a story about growing up in the grimy hoods of Springfield and College Park and most of all the story of being the grandson of a drug lord and son and brother of gangsters. Always a wordsmith, you can hear Bread marrying his flow with his Midwest accent and southern slang riding each beat as though each producer intended them just for him.
Unquestionably Young Bread is the South’s newest lyricist to the music game.
