"SPZRKT - Blindman"

SPZRKT knows the fastest way to a woman’s heart is by showering her with compliments. On his latest single, the Georgia native pulls one out of the bag that has rarely been heard, informing a potential partner that her beauty is so overwhelming that even a Blind Man could fall in love with her. Points for originality. Handling wingman duties is Cali producer J-Louis, who turns in a simplistic, 90’s throwback sound behind-the-boards. Released via STRT TRBL Music, the single is now available for digital purchase at iTunes - DJ Booth

"SPZRKT & Sango Release ‘Hours Spent Loving You’ EP"

Soulection producer Sango and Georgia-birthed singer SPZRKT (Spazzy Rocket) – who recently appeared on 2DBZ with DopeHouse favorite Mélat on "We Don't Have To" – surprise fans with their Hours Spent Loving You EP. A seven-track project about the "summation of how relationships are viewed both earthly and heavenly." - 2 Dope Boyz

"SPZRKT- Honest"

Georgia native and frequent Soulection collaborator SPZRKT (pronounced "spazzy rocket") dropped a track this month titled "Honest," produced by Sam Baker. As the title suggests, SPZRKT provides some confessional, emotional R&B vocals about a breakup, proclaiming "if the truth hurts, let me be in pain for a little." Baker provides a spacey, 808-punctuated instrumental for SPZRKT's subdued vocals. Hopefully this is the start of future collaborations between the two. Baker's beat scene sensibility combines well with SPZRKT's R&B tone. There's no word on any upcoming SPZRKT project but this single along with an appearance on Soulection radio and a string of recent live performances would suggest he has something in the works. - Hypetrak

Still working on that hot first release.

How does Xavier Omär want to be remembered? As a risk taker. A classic voice. An artist who blurs musical lines. A fearless dreamer. And with these big goals, the singer-songwriter isn’t wasting any time. His debut studio album, Bonfire, released on 09/02/14 followed by his EP with Sango (Soulection) titled Hours Spent Loving You, and singles Blind Man & Hesitate.

Xavier Omär takes pride in his songwriting ability and is most excited by the reward of evoking specific feelings in his listeners with his music. He draws inspiration from artists of all genres, including James Blake, Arcade Fire, Kanye West, Mumford & Sons, John Legend, Frank Ocean, The Beatles, and Sam Smith.

Xavier Omär grew up as a military brat, moving across the country and as far as Japan, but he claims Georgia as home. Music balanced out the highly structured lifestyle of his military family, as his mother and siblings sang and played drums and piano, and his father was a writer, producer and the minister of music at church. He wrote and produced his first song at 12 years old, recording it in his basement on a 4 track tape recorder. A brief period of discouragement was tackled when Xavier Omär decided to audition for American Idol Season 11 in Houston, TX. Not making it past the preliminary judging round gave him the determination to save up to buy equipment and begin recording music again—so add “proving American Idol wrong” to his list of goals. In 2012, he hit the ground running with his solo career and hasn’t stopped since.
