Wiped Out is the reverb-drenched, sun-soaked, Surf Rock brainchild of vocalist/guitarist, Clark Starace. Backed by huge, pounding drums (Ethan Bill) and relentless, driving bass, Starace pulls you into his world like a strong undertow.
With some feel-good, Beach Boys inspired tracks, and some Dick Dale inspired instrumental rockers, Wiped Out runs the gamut of Surf music. The band seamlessly blends layered vocal harmonies, sixties surf riffs, and punk drums together with the feel and energy of a modern rock powerhouse, swirling together like a delicious cocktail in your favorite tiki mug.
Though a resident of New York City, Starace’s west coast influences are on full display in this decidedly modern take on the classic American surf band. It’s not all California sunshine though, as Wiped Out brings a fast paced grittiness that is unmistakably New York.
