Bio
The self-proclaimed student of the game, now 23, has maintained a focused and driven attitude throughout his evolution as an artist.
Alexander is well aware he is still paying his dues. For Alexander, music serves as a creative outlet for him to channel his feelings on a variety of subjects without filtering or censoring himself.
Versatility is a quality Alexander feels is his strong suit. His songs vary widely in mood and content, but the element that seems to be his hallmark is his lyrical ability.
Known for drawing inspiration from underground Kansas City hip-hop influences in songs like “415,” Alexander has witnessed the growth of the city’s hip-hop culture firsthand.
“I remember a time when Kansas City didn’t have its own sound,” he said. “We’ve always had that culture here, it’s just that we didn’t know exactly how to identify with it. Now, Kansas City is a melting pot and there are so many artists here.”
According to Alexander, the main message he aims to convey in his music is that of overcoming self-doubt. Given his journey, this is a topic he feels qualified to speak on.
“The biggest thing in my music is that I had a lot of confidence issues,” he said. “Internally, I didn’t feel I was worthy enough to compete with the people who were already established. That’s something that is central to my music. It’s just about being more self-aware about what you can do despite everything that you may feel internally.”
