Bio
In the town of Erie, PA from the age of five when the Muppet Animal drum set was sitting under his family Christmas tree, Steve has been rockin. His mother and father encouraged him to be as loud as he could be and he hasn't stopped.
Early influences include, Elvis, Sinatra, Lionel Richie, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Grateful Dead, Rick Springfield, Mellancamp, Billy Joel, INXS, Queen, REM, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, Bach, Beethoven, Brahms. You name it, Steve listened to it.
He learned how to play piano at 6. His brothers would put on concerts in their garage and use the picnic table as a stage.
Sports are and were a big part of Steve's life. He was fortunate enough to play Penn State football until a freak accident sidelined him. Shortly after that he was introduced to Garth Brooks and it changed his life for good. Obsessed with learning how to construct a song Steve picked up a guitar and hasn't put it down since.
Today Steve writes and performs American Rock constructing "never give up" melodies and lyrics that embody the American Spirit
His passion for performing led him to star in two Broadway National Tours. The first was Jekyll & Hyde, in 2000, playing the title role. The second being Annie Get Your Gun, in 2001, playing Frank Butler, the gun slinging big headed sharpshooter opposite Annie Oakley. Many regional performances followed along with a couple of TV appearances mainly as a construction worker or perpetrator on the hit soap opera All My Children.
Being on the road and sitting backstage gave Steve a lot of time to think. It was natural for him to start writing down his thoughts. Being able to play guitar and piano he started to construct lyrics and melodies from those thoughts. Sinatra, Elvis, Garth, Billy Joel, Lionel Richie influenced his early writing giving him a great platform to build upon. During college Steve's musical tastes expanded with such bands as The Dead, The Who, NIN, Bon Jovi, Phish. His wordy, funny, or uplifting lyrical verse lines lead the listener in. While his booming, sometimes supple Broadway vocals take the chorus to new heights. To date, Steve has written or co-written over 100 songs and cant wait to share his catalog with all of his fans.
When Steve is not playing music he enjoys playing golf, barbecueing and hanging out with friends.
