Who: Amelia Dunaway McCraw and Kenneth Gall began composing as the electronic duo Twin Scars in 2014. After releasing some new tracks last year, they now have their debut album, Oracle, emerging from softer tones on the New Wave-edged dance pop spectrum, saturated in cool-temp electronic shades that go well with McGraw’s cool and wispy vocal delivery.
What: Oracle is out today, and McGraw and Gall are so ready for an album release party.
When and where: Twin Scars celebrates tonight at the Mohawk, 912 Red River, sharing a bill with Manic Dream and Shapescenes, and the evening kicks off with DJ Daelo at 9 p.m. Check it out. - KUTX
For today’s Track of the Day, we’re bringing you a song by two artists, who go by the names Amelia Apocalypse and Kenny Gall. Together they are Twin Scars, a band that concentrates on electronic rock at its finest.
Founded only in 2014, the dynamic duo from Austin, Texasreleased their debut album “ORACLE” at the end of last month which features a wide variety of great tracks. One of them called “Message” particularly caught our eye (or well, ear) though.
Why? Because it represents the entire record pretty well and delivers everything it takes for a song to succeed in this genre: A steady yet special rhythm created by the solid balance of electronic and rock elements as well as rather unique vocals, whereas Amelia’s voice gives off a haunting vibe that is just perfect to deliver a set of catchy lyrics.
Fact is, we definitely approve of this track as well as the album and certainly look forward to hearing a lot more from these (yet) hidden talents. - Strife Magazine

Bio
Twin Scars is an electronic rock duo from Austin, TX. Comprised of Amelia Apocalypse and Kenny Gall, the two members bring years of varied experience to the project. Combining their strong musicianship and songwriting skills, they've created a large, electronically-driven rock sound uncommonly full for a duo. With a backbone of programmed, poppy electronic beats and vintage synthesizers layered with distorted guitar and intricate bass parts reminiscent of early Deathcab for Cutie, Twin Scars is "a refreshing listen for indie-rock purists."
Formed in December 2014, Twin Scars appeared during SXSW 2015 with their impactful live sound, playing 2 unofficial showcases, including Project Pabst. A June 2015 release of the single 'Satellite' is now available on iTunes; it's video released in July and is available on YouTube and Vimeo. Another single release of 'Seven Demons' made it's debut in October 2015 on SoundCloud as a free download, and is now available on iTunes, Spotify and Apple Music. A February 2016 full-length release, entitled 'Oracle,' is now available to stream on SoundCloud and Bandcamp, soon to be available on iTunes and at other music retailers / streaming services.
Since inception, Twin Scars have played iconic local venues in and around home base Austin (Mohawk, Swan Dive, Scoot Inn, etc), as well as tours in the midwest and south. They performed 6 showcases during the week of SXSW 2016, before taking a brief hiatus to allow a band member to care for an ailing relative. Back on the scene, they are currently booking Fall shows and spring festival dates. Stay tuned for an upcoming single release as well.
