Tom Cooper

Tom Cooper is a singer/songwriter/musician born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. From an early age, Tom was drawn to music, performing in various rock groups in his hometown, at Ohio State University, and eventually, in sunny California. He honed his skills on the 12-string guitar and blues harmonica, touring the country before settling down in bustling Northern Virginia.

Following a hiatus from the music scene and his late wife's untimely passing, Tom felt compelled to once again follow his heart. He immersed himself into his craft and developed his skill in a broad array of musical genres, with keen prowess as a multi-instrumentalist on the piano he'd played as a child. The net result is an impressive catalogue of folk-blues songs and ballads that instantly appeal to anyone who appreciates good music. 

His voice is unforgettable. Soulful, warm, and commanding, yet fully capable of reaching out in a range of the most tender notes imaginable. The music is punctuated by captivating story lines, each rich with substance, depth, and a streamlined style which is ever-evolving. Tom also applies his unique musical perspective in cover tunes with the most original perspective, showing audiences that an authentic musician in his element allows his spirit to enthusiastically spill out into song. 

In 2012, Tom Cooper self-released his debut album, On the Lam, to astounding reviews. With songs like his lead single, Tired of Fallin’ In Love, his unique vocal stylings, poignant writing, and enchanting performances have captured listeners' attention across the globe.

In 2013, Tom released his sophomore album, Exit Music. Its title track and remaining numbers feature similar odes to love and the human condition with a freshly simple sound. As with his entire repertoire, this effort finds Tom connecting with a familiar lightheartedness and optimism about life which deeply resonate with every word and chord.

Over the past two years, Tom Cooper has expanded his audience base and enjoyed widespread critical acclaim. He was interviewed as a featured artist on Artist First radio, and by the digital magazine Write Money, Inc. In early 2014, Tom was invited to be a showcase performer at the annual world-renowned South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas, where he played to scores of highly receptive fans. His standing wine bar engagement at several Whole Foods Markets across Virginia were wildly popular with both new and established fans. Additional gigs at the Water for Children Eco Fair in California and at a host of various night clubs throughout the country have further solidified his diverse career. 

Tom Cooper recently relocated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin with his new fianceĂŠwho's proved to be an ongoing positive inspiration for his work. He looks forward to exploring his new home base, as well as exciting new facets of a blooming musical career across venues throughout the Midwest and beyond.
